According to Goldman Sachs BRICs Monthly Issue No 10/03:

The last decade saw the BRICs make their mark on the global economic landscape. Over the past 10 years they have contributed over a third of world GDP growth and grown from one-sixth of the world economy to almost a quarter (in PPP terms). A recent study confirms that the Internet is a primary source of health information in India

A recent Bupa Health Pulse survey of over 12,000 people in 12 different countries around the world found that 90 % of Indians with Internet access search online for health advice.

Proportion of India Internet users searching for online health information 90%
Proportion of India Internet users who search for information about a medicine 60%
Proportion of India Internet users who search for information for self-diagnosis 42%
Number of Internet users in India 81 million

Canada-India University Presidents' Round Table

Yesterday The Honourable Gary Goodyear, PC, MP Minister of State (Science and Technology) led a delegation of university presidents to New Delhi, India.  The focus of their trip was to build on Canada's reputation as a top destination for research talent from India.

Canada currently ranks first among G7 countries in higher education research and development expenditures as a percentage of gross domestic product.
